About

Hello, I'm Shane. I've been a hacker and builder for three decades. It started with running a BBS called Broon's Bane as a teenager, until the German government sent me a cease and desist. I later worked on encrypted mobile devices at Motorola, helped build Orbitz, one of the first online travel sites, and was one of the first engineers at Groupon.

Along the way I contributed to open source like Ruby on Rails and built mobile apps, including the TED app and Drum Kit, both featured by Steve Jobs in Apple keynotes and downloaded by tens of millions of people. After a detour into crypto, I'm now obsessed with AI and building tools to (hopefully) make your life easier.
